Canceled Too Soon #160: American Gothic (1995-1996)

Sarah Paulson, Lucas Black and Gary Cole star in a supernatural horror series from the minds that brought you "The Evil Dead" and "Emerald City!"

It's AMERICAN GOTHIC, a creepy and kooky small-town drama about murders and mysteries and temptations and salvations, which aired almost completely out of order and then, adding insult to injury, was released on DVD... also in the wrong order!

Film critics William Bibbiani and Witney Seibold try to decode the mystery of "American Gothic" in this all-new episode of CANCELED TOO SOON!

Canceled Too Soon #159: Badlands 2005 (1988)

The year was 1988 and post-apocalyptic wastelands were EVERYWHERE. That's why ABC enlisted director George Miller* to direct a new pilot for a TV series called BADLANDS 2005, aka 2005 BADLANDS, about heroic road warriors saving the future from bad guys in supercharged muscle cars in the desert!

Lewis Smith and Sharon Stone co-star with Miguel Ferrer, playing a sometimes-animatronic robot, in an action-packed weekly thrill ride... that only lasted one week. Was "Badlands 2005"... CANCELED TOO SOON, or was there a good reason why this awesome-sounding TV series crashed and burned?

Film critics William Bibbiani and Witney Seibold delve into this forgotten chapter of TV's sci-fi stunt spectacular past in an all-new episode.

The Two-Shot: Caddyshack II and The Rules of the Game!

CADDYSHACK II has often been called one of the worst sequels ever made... but not by us. In the latest episode of THE TWO-SHOT, film critics William Bibbiani and Witney Seibold compare "Caddyshack II" to the original comedy classic, and discover that the sequel is actually the better of the two!

And what's even crazier, they think "Caddyshack II" is the perfect double feature with Jean Renoir's THE RULES OF THE GAME, a film about class divides that, like "Caddyshack II," was originally criticized but now, unlike "Caddyshack II," is considered one of the best movies ever made!

The Two-Shot: Faust: Love of the Damned and Max Max: Fury Road!

Not a lot of people talk about it, but Brian Yuzna's FAUST: LOVE OF THE DAMNED is probably the most disgusting live-action superhero movie ever made! So why is this ultra-low budget film, about a guy who makes a deal with the devil to get Wolverine claws so he can behead people, the perfect double feature with George Miller's celebrated action classic MAD MAX: FURY ROAD?

Film critics William Bibbiani and Witney Seibold guide you through a notorious misfire and an all-time classic every single week on THE TWO-SHOT!

Canceled Too Soon #158: The Weird Al Show (1997)

"Weird" Al Yankovic is a comedy legend AND a music legend, but even he couldn't keep a kids television series on the air for more than 13 episodes! THE WEIRD AL SHOW starred Yankovic as an insecure weirdo living in a cave under the surface of the Earth, who learns valuable lessons about life with the help of celebrity guests like Patton Oswalt, Fabio, John Tesh, Randy Savage, Hanson, Barenaked Ladies and more!

Why didn't THE WEIRD AL SHOW last longer? Film critics William Bibbiani and Witney Seibold dig deep into this oddball failed TV series and explore their own lifelong love of "Weird" Al Yankovic in an all-new episode of CANCELED TOO SOON!
